Service Description

The Billy Ray Hobley Endowed Scholarship Fund was created in 2009, to honor posthumously Dillard Alumnus Billy Ray Hobley. The goal of the fund is to raise scholarship money for deserving Dillard student athletes. Hobley was a cornerstone for Dillard University’s Bleu Devils during his tenure, the 6-8 forward averaged 22.6 points per game. After a 22-year career with the Globetrotters, he returned to Dillard as Men’s Head Basketball Coach and took them to the playoffs for the 1st time in the program’s history. Hobley Passed away July 31,2002 and his family partnered with Dillard University to create the scholarship fund. On July 30,2022 Hobley was inducted into the Greater New Orleans Sport Hall of Fame, his daughter Raichell Hobley accepted the induction on his behalf. The A.S.K. Billy Ray Hobley Foundation is currently in the process of developing a scholarship fund that will be open to the community at large.
